I can think of some times of spiritual dryness in my life when faith seemed dull and mechanical.  In those times I have said to myself, "Is this all there is to it?  I thought the Christian life would be better than this!  I must have missed something here.  This is not where I set out to go when I started following Jesus."  I imagine you have found yourself in times of spiritual frustration, too - you're going to the meetings, singing the songs, praying the prayers - but that connection you want to have with God is just not there.  You set out in the right direction, but your Christianity is more of a burden than a blessing.  You try to do the right things and feel the right things, but it all seems empty and disconnected.  And that's not where you want to be. God must have known that we would struggle with this, because He gave us an awesome example in Scripture of someone who really knew how to connect with Him - and stay connected.  Her name is Mary of Bethany.
