Paul met twelve men in Ephesus who knew something about Jesus. They appeared to be disciples of Jesus. But there was something missing. So he asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They were almost Christians - but they were not saved. They had come as far as repentance and forgiveness of sins, but like Apollos they knew nothing about the cross or the resurrection or the work of the Holy Spirit. So Paul begins to instruct them...
