LOOKING FOR WAYS TO GET INVOLVED?

Twin Oaks Mobil Home Park
One of the ongoing ministries of our church is that of Twin Oaks Mobil home Park.  We have establish not only a point of contact there but have a church in the park.  We hold services on Sunday and Wednesday as well as multiple bible studies and activities throughout the week.  Volunteers are needed to work in all these areas.  Contact Bill Raney or Bobby Jefferson for more information.

Ring the Bell this Christmas for Salvation Army
Every year our church combines with Salvation Army to staff the kettle at Roses to collect for folks in need in our county.  The sign up sheets are in the hall across from the Visitor’s Center next to the nursery.

Inside Out YouthFest
An event designed to reach the Youth of Thomasville and Thomas County.  We will have live music, food and activities.  The event is free to the youth and help is need to cook the food and guide the games and be there if the youth have questions or needs.  Events begin at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 28, 2009 at Remington Park.  The music and food begin at 5:00 pm.  Call Tommy Williams to volunteer.

Birthday Party for Jesus
This event gives families a place to gather and eat before the downtown Christmas Parade.  We will eat in the fellowship hall from 5:00 to 6:00 pm and then participate in the parade.  Volunteers are needed to help prepare the float for the parade and then to walk as a church passing out tracts and invitations to the community movie night on December 6.  Call Stephanie Sharp or Leigh Barwick for more information.

Community Movie Night
This year we will show the movie “Road to Redemption” in our Community Movie Night in Remington Park at 6:00 pm on December 6.  Help is need with welcoming the crowd, working with the popcorn and drinks and cleaning up afterwards.  Call Leigh Barwick for more information.

Live Nativity
As usual this event is at the same time as Victorian Christmas downtown.  Help is needed on both nights, Friday and Saturday, December 11 and 12 in make up, food and acting in al the parts of the nativity scene.  Call Bro. Reid Wylie to help.

Christmas Baskets
This annual project of preparing and delivering Christmas Baskets of food, presents and the Word of God, reaches hundreds of folks in need in our community.  Help will be needed between December 15-19, to pack the baskets, wrap the presents and mark the Bibles.  Then on December 21, help is needed to deliever the 250 baskets around our area.  Call Mary Swift, our Education Secretary to find out what you can do to help.

Operation “Warm Heart”
This past August, we came together for church mission project on a Saturday morning and distributed over 7,000 pieces of back to school clothing to over 300 families.  On January 17, we again we gather in our Fellowship Hall to give coats and blankets (and other clothing essentials) to families in need in our community.  We will need help on that day to handle the distribution and will need everyone’s help before then in donating the needed clothing.  Call Lisa Gilligan to find out what you can do.
