Core Values
Dear First Baptist Family,This month our focus is going to be on some of the core values of our church family. A “value” is some principle or standard that is valuable to us as a congregation. There is a whole Bible full of wonderful values to discuss, but some values are so primary, so fundamental, so important to us that they form the foundation upon which we build everything else. These are our core values.
We are going to study five core values of First Baptist Church. These values determine our priorities, how we treat each other, and which strategies we employ to fulfill our mission. This is not a comprehensive list of every value of the Christian faith. These are five things to which our church must always be committed.
There are pages in this journal for your notes as we search the Scriptures for God’s direction on these core values. You will also find daily devotional material. For each day (excluding Sundays) there is a passage of Scripture to read, a few pointers for meditating on the passage, and a couple of prayer starters. I hope you will use the space provided to write down your thoughts and “journal” what God says to you. I appreciate our ministerial staff writing the content for these devotionals this month.
