Men's Woodstock Retreat

Temptation Island

"All of us have experienced and fallen prey to the allure of TEMPTATION ISLAND. Often times we look back and wonder, “What was the draw?” Our 20/20 hindsight can make our failures look silly because sin never lives up to the allure of the temptation that draws us in. Fortunately, God promises that there is a way of escape from Temptation Island and there are ways to avoid being stranded there altogether. God had emblazoned my heart to help the tempted and the fallen see and utilize the ways of escape God has provided for them." - Dr. Johnny Hunt, First Baptist Woodstock

Our 2009 Men's retreat to First Baptist Woodstock, GA, will be January 30-31, 2009.  Each year the number of men going to this excellent men's retreat has grown and we have bought tickets and made reservations for 100 men.  The cost for the conference and materials, Friday night steak dinner, hotel (double occupancy) and the motor coach will be $125 per person.

We will leave our church at 10:00 am on Friday, January 30 and arrive back at 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 31.  Call the church office to make a reservation to hold your spot.

A-Men

The “A-Men” Men’s Ministry of First Baptist Church exists to reach men of our community with a credible offer of the Gospel of Jesus, give them the opportunity to receive Jesus as their personal savior, disciple and grow them into the likeness of Jesus, and help them find places of service and ministry in and outside of First Baptist Church.

We accomplish this by personal one-on-one witnessing and mentoring, attending seminars twice a year outside our church (e.g., Woodstock First Baptist Church Men’s Event and Promise Keepers), teaching discipleship through short-term studies in our church, providing opportunities of service and outreach to our community (annual Wild Game Dinner and Men’s Fishing tournament), and a monthly men’s luncheon, which provides a time of growth and inspiration.

We believe that our ministry should help the men of our church to be all that God has already made them to be in their homes, community and church.
