JULY 4TH CELEBRATION

It is our pleasure again this year to reach out to our community neighbors by volunteering to work at the city-wide July 4th Celebration and Fireworks at Remington Park this Saturday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  If you have volunteered to work that day, there are several things you need to know: Two basics for everyone:1.    If you don’t have the special “JESUSAVES” shirt, stop by the office and get yours to wear at the event. They will be available at the event also.2.    Enter the park at the soccer field entrance. The police have been advised to let all our folks into park on that lot. If you are doing Crafts and Games:1.    The Crafts and Games area borders that lot.  2.  Report to Kathryn Upton and she will help you find your area. If you are doing water:1.    The water truck will be parked on the back of the parking lot near the basket ball court.    2. Bring a wagon, hand truck, rolling cooler, something to transport a case or more of water in. If you are doing trash:1.    We have some “pick up tools” but if you have your own please bring it. The city will provide the trash bags. Thank you all for your help. This is going to be a great witness for the Kingdom!

HIGH MOUNTAIN EQUINE OUTREACH

This is a very unique but rewarding Mission Project.  In the mountains of Kentucky you will have a chance to work beside and with "at risk" youth as together you participate in fencing, landscaping and other construction projects and then have an outreach to them through natural horsemanship training techniques.  Though not required, skills in horsemanship and working with youth would be a great benefit.  The mission trip is planned for July 5-10.  Call Stan McLeod for more information.

BACK TO SCHOOL CLOTHING DRIVE

Last year our church held it's first ever "Back to School Clothing Drive" and the results were nothing less than spectacular!  We serviced over 600 families that morning and gave away over 9,000 pieces of clothing to families in need in our community.  The date for the clothing drive this year is Saturday, July 18.   We have already set our area to begin  the process of sorting and sizing all the clothes and we are ready for you to bring clothes for Children and Youth.  We are also encouraging families to buy packages of underwear for the children.  You may bring your items to the church office anytime during the week or leave them in specially marked containers on Wednesday nights or Sundays.  If you would like to work in the drive that morning, please call Lisa Gilligan to volunteer.
